Who we are

Splendense is a full-stack web development studio based at Celsiuslaan 3, 5251 ZB Vlijmen, The Netherlands. For any privacy question, write to info@splendense.nl. Splendense acts as the data controller for personal data submitted through this website.

What we collect from this site

  • Contact form submissions. When you submit the contact form we receive the name, work email, optional company and message you provide, together with the timestamp of the submission and your explicit consent to be replied to.
  • Technical data. Standard server access logs (IP address, user-agent, requested URL, response status) are generated by our hosting provider for security and abuse monitoring.
  • Local browser storage. We store your theme, motion and language preferences in localStorage on your own device so the site remembers them. These values never leave your browser.
  • CSRF cookie. A short-lived sp_csrf cookie is set when the contact form is opened, purely to prevent cross-site form abuse. It contains a random token and no personal data.

We do not use marketing cookies, third-party analytics, ad networks, session recording or fingerprinting on this website.

Why we process it and on what legal basis

  • To reply to your enquiry — legal basis: your consent (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a)), confirmed by the required consent checkbox on the contact form, and, once we discuss an engagement, our mutual pre-contractual interest (Art. 6(1)(b)).
  • To keep the site secure and operational — legal basis: our legitimate interest in operating a secure website (Art. 6(1)(f)).

Who we share it with (subprocessors)

Contact submissions are delivered to Splendense's own inbox. To operate the site and the contact endpoint we rely on the following third parties, each acting as a processor under a data-processing agreement:

  • Website hosting and email delivery — please contact us for the current provider list, as it may change over time.
  • Google Fonts is loaded from Google's CDN to render typography. Google may receive the requesting IP address as part of that HTTP request.

We do not sell personal data and we do not transfer it outside the EEA except where the receiving provider offers Standard Contractual Clauses or an equivalent transfer mechanism.

How long we keep it

  • Contact form messages are retained for up to 24 months after the last interaction, then deleted, unless a longer retention is required by law or by an active engagement.
  • Server access logs are retained for up to 90 days.
  • Browser-side preferences persist until you clear your browser storage.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict or object to the processing of your personal data, and the right to data portability. You may withdraw the consent given via the contact form at any time by writing to info@splendense.nl; withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before the withdrawal.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Dutch supervisory authority, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens, or with the supervisory authority of the EU country where you live.

Security

The site is served over HTTPS. The contact endpoint enforces a CSRF token (double-submit cookie), a honeypot field to filter automated submissions and strict server-side validation. Only Splendense staff have access to received messages.

Children

This website is intended for a professional business audience. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy to reflect changes to our practices or for other operational, legal or regulatory reasons. Material changes will be highlighted at the top of this page.
